Modern Power Pop (7" Japan)

THE TARTAN HORDE - ROLLERS SHOW (1977)

The Tartan Horde was formed by Terry Modern early in 1975. Terry chosed the name Tartan Horde to express his devotion to Scotland, the home of the Bay City Rollers. As a confirmed Roller fan, Terry wanted to express his dedication and wrote the song "Bay City Rollers We Love You" which he then recorded with some ex-school friends and his brother Mouse. Their principal intention was to do this one song. However fate decided otherwise. By chance Andrew Lauder, Head of A&R at United Artists Records heard the tape and immediately asked Terry Modern to go into the studio and make a proper recording of "Bay City Rollers We Love You". When completed, the single was rushed to Japan, just before the Bay City Rollers were due to visit and hit the charts almost immediately. The band completed a new single "Rollers Show" and was supposed to start recording an album, but it never happened and Terry Modern disappeared forever... so it goes, but at least this is Pure Pop For Now People.
