"Bionic Gold" is an album of cover
versions of songs originally produced by Phil Spector. Each performer
was signed to the Big Sound label and collectively they were backing on
many of these tracks, credited as the "Big Sound Orchestra".
Bionic Gold reached cult status mostly cause of the artists playing on the album. Roger C.Reale (Rue Morgue), Hilly Michaels (Rue Morgue, Sparks), Philip Rambow (The Winkies), Mick Farren (The Deviants), Fran Kowalski (Chris Stamey, Scott McCarl), Jon Tiven (Prix, Yankees, Alex Chilton), Doug Snyder (Prix) and Marc Bell (Richard Hell, Ramones)
