Originally posted on PPC, this is my homage to the music of Jeff Lynne and his influence on Power Pop either with The Move, ELO or The Idle Race. It features only original songs, no covers.

SOME SOUNDALIKES, SOMETIMES THEY SOUND LIKE (2010)

Back in 2010, the purpose of this large collection was to try to show how some bands had something in common, the love and respect for their famous forerunners. So instead of covering some classic tunes, they wrote original songs, mixed and produced them in the spirit of the bands they admired.

In the following years, i expanded the concept with the ELO-ISH, Byrdsian, Beatlesque, Brian Wilsonesque or even Glam & Glitter compilations, so you won't be surprized to find some songs here that were also used for those collections. Enjoy.
