Eleven simple tracks by Paul Chastain, Ric Menck and guitarist Darren Cooper (Three Hour Tour), including all of the "Briar Rose" (title song written by Matthew Sweet) and "High" EPs, posthumously compiled as Briar High (Singles 1988). The collection documents the group’s Anglo-pop obsessions "Flower Field,” “When Sunday Comes (She Sighs),” “My Best Friend”. Poignant, pretty and dizzyingly gentle power pop. Jeff Murphy of Shoes guests on “Every Little Knight”; Menck sings lead on “Big Blue Buzz” and “Wishing on a Star.”
