SO LONG CHRISTMAS (2016)

This was the 11th compilation, and it was posted very late that year on Christmas Eve, due to the hard times i was living then, but the worst didn't happen yet, even though i knew it would happen. No inner sleeve this time.

TIC TAC MISTLETOE (2013)

The 2013 volume was one of the first compiled at the time with lossless material though it was posted only in mp3. All previous collections had to be re-compiled recently in order to be shared in lossless format on PPA, So, Christmas 2013 is made available in FLAC for the first time on PPA. it also was the first with the inner sleeve of the bands involved

Excellent Power Pop Anthology (PPC 2012)

VARIOUS - POWER POP! WILL BIRCH'S C90 (1994)

In 1994 (June, Issue #7), Mojo Magazine asked Will Birch (Kursaal Flyers, The Records), a famous die hard power pop fan to compile his dream C90 of Power Pop tunes. It was a long long time ago before Mojo was giving away free cd's with every issue. It was a long long time ago when Mojo was really ....well... Mojo.

So, Will Birch picked 30 songs which try to encapsulate the best of the Power Pop genre. Of course, lack of space prohibited the inclusion of major names (dB's, Plimsouls, Redd Kross, Material Issue and some of the other fab bands we all love), but the challenge was to do the job with only 90 minutes of music. Will Birch made a terrific work, and i hope it helped to popularize the genre with some readers not always familiar with Power Pop.

All the original liner notes, written by Will Birch, have been included within the booklet. You'll read why some versions (e.g. the Philips single Version of "Shake Some Action", the Bomp single version of "Tomorrow Night", or the single version of "There She Goes"...) were chosen instead of the most familiar. Custom artwork made for PPC in 2012.

WU (692 mb)

At the time of its first posting on PPC, Will Birch wrote this about my post:

"Angelo, thanks for giving my Power Pop compilation for Mojo an airing, and congratulations on the magnificent artwork.
It was the first of the C90 features run in Mojo (at my suggestion) although I confess to stealing the idea from a US 1970s fanzine the name of which I can't recall right now. I also did a 'Country Rock' C90 some months later."

The PPA Revamped Tributes (2023)

THE COMPLETE PPC TRIBUTES (2006-2021)

The 18 PPC tributes posted between 2006 and 2021 have been totally revamped for PPA. They have been shared for the first time in FLAC. 284 covers revisiting the UK discography plus a few other releases.

The PPC "1" (Revamped 2023 for PPA)

TRIBUTE TO THE BEATLES - THE PPC "1" (2012)

"1" was a compilation album by the band, released in 2000. The album featured virtually every number-one single released in the United Kingdom and United States from 1962 to 1970. Issued on the 30th anniversary of the band's break-up, it was their first compilation available on one Compact Disc.

A compilation originally posted in 2012 in mp3 format only, and instead of re-upping the very same one, i have totally revamped it, changing 10 tracks but also the artwork for this first repost of the complete series in lossless.

The PPC "Yellow Submarine Songtrack" (Revamped 2023 for PPA)

TRIBUTE TO THE BEATLES - THE PPC YELLOW SUBMARINE SONGTRACK (2010)

Originally, the "PPC Let It Be" was supposed to be the last collection, omitting the "Yellow Submarine" LP because the original album with the orchestral side 2 was impossible to cover, But, as a matter of fact, i had the "Songtrack" CD, and i thought there could be an opportunity to revisit this CD edition.

The PPC "Masters Vol 1 & 2" (Revamped 2023 for PPA)

TRIBUTE TO THE BEATLES - THE PPC MASTERS VOL 1 & 2 (2007)

The Masters Volume One and Two were originally released in 1988. The Past Masters collect the 33 non-LP tracks that the Beatles released during the eight years of their career (not counting the singles that were released on Magical Mystery Tour). 33 songs as covered by "yesterday & today" bands.

The very last Fab Four album revisited and brought to you by PPC. At the time it took more than a couple of years to cover the complete official discography.

The PPC "Abbey Road" (Revamped 2023 for PPA)

TRIBUTE TO THE BEATLES - THE PPC WHITE ALBUM (2007)

Another one compiled for PPL in 2007, then reposted in 2008 on PPC to compare my collection with the one released by Mojo magazine for the 40th anniversary of the Beatles album.

TRIBUTE TO THE BEATLES - THE PPC MAGICAL MYSTERY TOUR (2006)

Before starting PPC in 2007, i was contributing to the Power Pop Lovers blog, this is how the Magical Mystery Tour Tribute was posted in 2006 (December 7th). The very same version was then re-upped in 2014 on PPC (again in mp3), and now in 2023, i have totally revamped the tribute,

The PPC "Sgt Pepper's" (Revamped 2023 for PPA)

No need to introduce this and probably one of the most revisited album. This is my contribution to the series.

TRIBUTE TO THE BEATLES - THE PPC COLLECTION OF OLDIES (2021)

Originally released in 1966, the collection featured hit singles and a few other ones and is generally considered as a Chritsmas Gift. It has never been officially reissued.

The PPC "Revolver" (Revamped 2023 for PPA)

TRIBUTE TO THE BEATLES - THE PPC REVOLVER (2009)

In 2009, after a 7 months hiatus on PPC, i started the end of the "fab four experience". "Revolver" is considered by many Power Pop aficionados as the best Fab Four album. I used one of the original draw of Klaus Vormann for the front artwork.
